It has been a great year for the Freshman Leadership Involvement Organization (F.L.I.O.). F.L.I.O. is still a relatively new club, but the club is operating as if it has been around for years. Its mission is to provide a space for first-year students to develop basic leadership skills and school spirit through planned activities while providing academic, social, and emotional support for freshmen as they adjust to campus life. This organization helps students identify their strengths and abilities in order to be effective student leaders at Chicago State University.
In addition to hosting activities on campus, F.L.I.O. is actively involved in fundraising for scholarship dollars. They are well on their way to surpass their goal of $1000. The club provides a scholarship for the most active new freshman and a book scholarship for an incoming freshman. They have hosted several fundraisers this year including the very popular Pie and Administrator where members of the Department of Student Affairs volunteered to be hit with pies. Fun was had by all.
Join F.L.I.O today and make a difference in a new student’s journey at CSU.
