The Chicago State University MBRS Programs support student training in the biomedical sciences and faculty research.

Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement(RISE) is a student research training program designed to provide expanded opportunities for undergraduates majoring in biology, chemistry or physics to prepare for doctoral-level work.

Support of Competitive Research (SCORE) is a program to enhance the biomedical research capabilities of the university by support of faculty research.

If you are interested in applying to be part of the RISE Program, please download and print the RISE Student Employment Form, complete it and drop it off at the MBRS Office (room SCI-222). The Program Director will contact you and make an appointment to discuss your eligibility to participate in the program.

The ten-week GRE preparation workshop that started February 12 is now ending. Contact Dr Sherman for dates of the next workshop.

Applications for this summer's nine-week RISE Program introduction to research skills workshop ("TILT") can longer be accepted. TILT is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 28 and continues through Friday, July 26, 2013.

The CSU MBRS Programs receive generous support from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). SCORE faculty research projects are authorized for funding through 2015 and the RISE Program is funded through 2013.
