Types of Awards

1. SPSE Graduate Student Award ($100.00 Society Treasury) Established in 1985

2. Dr. Michael Oliker Award ($100.00 courtesy Mrs. Marge Oliker) Established in 2003

3. Father Walter Krolikowski Award ($100 replaces one of the two SPSE awards) Established in 2007

Selection Criteria:

1. Must present paper at one of the Society's annual conferences

2. Meet scholarly criteria, including literature review, scholarly references, sensible analysis

3. Make a contribution to the field of educational philosophy, including generating new knowledge, facilitating new understanding, or inspiring new insights among peers

4. Demonstrate significant degree of background knowledge, including knowledge of presentation topic

5. Maintain a high level of quality of presentation, including excellent oral or other communication skills

6. Inspire a high level of involvement by peers during the discussion period, including level of interest shown by peers, ability by presenter to respond to questions asked, or to generate new ideas or discussion in the audience

All three awards weigh equally-they are of the same importance or value.
