Treasurer's Report

Previous balance as of the last Treasurer's report by Rose Gong (Nov. 18, 2004) $5091.37 (includes most receipts and some expenses from the 2004 conference)

Scott Johnson took over as Treasurer in November, 2004. He moved to Canada and resigned before the Nov. 2005 conference. He turned over all of the checks, bank statements, receipts, etc. to Richard Pippan. This report includes the expenses and deposits that he made to the account during his tenure as treasurer, since he did not submit a formal report to the society.

In November 2004 MPES was charged 69.50 for a returned check (65.00 and a 4.50 processing fee.) In January 2005 MPES reimbursed Mary Swieton $1039.59 for conference expenses. MPES paid $80.00 to Van Simpas Jewellers for the Oliker lifetime member plaque. The Sociey also paid Author's House $76.00 in June for galley proofs and $1037.00 in October for conference proceedings. Scott deposited $130.00 from Jean and Jim Roper and $50.00 from Donna Stennett. The society's balance before the 2005 conference was $2969.05.

In December 2005 I deposited $1140.29 in conference registration fees and $100.00 for the 2005 Oliker student award. (see attached list of conference attendees and the dues paid). Richard Pippan collected the registrations fees at the conference. He deducted his expenses from the cash fees and sent me a check for the remaining cash ($70.29). He also included receipts for $284.71 for conference expenses. I will also deposit a royalty check for $72.00 from Author's House. Balance in the account (including the royalty check) $4281.38.

Future expenses:

$50.00 to Ed Theory.

$100 checks to the 2005 graduate student award winners. I noticed that no award checks were sent to any 2004 graduate student presenters. If you let me know who should have gotten an award I can send them checks also.
