SPORT
STUDIES:
Sport and fitness conditioning is everywhere. Children grow up playing pick-up games, being involved in sport leagues, and participating in favorite family sporting activities. Adults have been flocking to sport and fitness facilities in the quest to improve their physical as well as mental well-being. Because of this we have seen a rapid expansion of career opportunities in the field of sport and fitness management.
The Sport Studies program at
Career possibilities in the
realm of sport and fitness management include management positions in
professional, amateur, municipal sport authorities, and nonprofit youth
agencies with sport programs (YMCAs, YWCAs, etc.). In addition, career
possibilities exist in several industries including those that deal with youth
sports camps, corporate fitness/wellness programs, fitness specialists, sport
event planning, sports information, sports marketing, tourism, and commercial
recreation (resorts, sports delivery).
