Interdiction Campaign No. 1 July-August
1950

The purpose of the first interdiction campaign was
to find a role for the B-29. The
rapid advance of the North Korean Army threatened to kick the United Nations
forces out of Korea. Interdiction
Campaign No. 1 was specifically targeted to interdict the North Korean
logistical lines feeding the army at the front. American planners thought, “…only the B-29 could adequately
handle the systematic destruction of North Korea’s transportation… (Futrell, American
Air Forces in Korea) ”. The plan was to target certain choke
points, such as bridges and roads, that would hamper the North Korean supply
lines. Seoul Pyongyang Wosan Railroad
