HIMThe Department of Health Information Management (HIM) appreciates your visit to our webpage. Thank you for considering Chicago State University to pursue a career in health information management. This is an exciting time to be in the HIM profession given the increased focus on health information technology and the change to ICD-10 coding.

A career in health information offers a challenging, exciting and rewarding career choice.  Students are prepared to assume employment in a variety of traditional and non-traditional organizations. Graduates completing the program are eligible to sit for the national certification exam of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) whereupon completion can become a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
