Director Harris gave an impactful speech covering her own journey and philosophy and outlined the importance of diversity and minority involvement in the key fields of science, engineering and technology.

Several graduates were specifically honored including Mr. Martinez Sutton, who graduated with a degree in Community Health and who overcame the tragic death of his sister in order to devote his life and future career to social justice. Also recognized was the family a Ms. Joanna Dyson, a Criminal Justice student who sadly passed away before she completed her degree.
