CSU Celebrates 357th Commencement Ceremony

Chicago State University waved goodbye to over 300 students as they celebrated the university’s 357Th Commencement Ceremony on Thursday December 17, 2015.

Graduates along with family and friends gathered for a grand farewell at the Jones Convocation Center welcoming back Chicago State alumnus, Dr. Janice K. Jackson this year’s keynote speaker.

Having earned both her Bachelors and Masters in Education from Chicago State University, Dr. Jackson, the Chief Education Officer of Chicago Public Schools, returned with more than 15 years’ experience prepared to share her knowledge.

Dr. Jackson began her journey as a social studies and history teacher at a Chicago Public School. Jackson closed her speech reminding graduates to continue on, never letting the odds define you and the masterpiece you are capable of achieving in the future.
